The Divine Sisterhood

"We are the flames of the fires, the whirling of the winds. We are the waters of the rains and the rivers and the oceans. We are the rocks and the stones. And now by the power invested in me, I declare we are the mighty Ya-Ya priestesses. Let no man put us under. Now our blood flows through each other as it's done for all eternity. Loyal forever. We raise our voices in the words of Mumbo Gumbo... YA-YA!"
-Little Vivi, The Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood

Rooonaaah and I recently exchanged gifts. I was so ashamed of what I had given her - a keychain that anyone-could-have-the-chance-to-know-the-price! Likewise, she gave me a card. Yes, a handmade card, and it's NOT just a card you could see in hallmark sections because she had put on her effort on it. It's so lovely. I wish I could just melt in my seat and vanish in this world.

P.S. I would like to thank kitkit avenue for lending me Paulo Coelho's book. I'll promise to pass it to any other person.

They've Disappeared Like Troubadours

They've disappeared like troubadours by Sandra Dans, 22, Philippines

Dream-like and playful pictures were found last week. I half-expected these photos were taken by a foreigner, but then I did a little dance when I found out it was from a fellow countrywoman. Ack. Do you think it was shoot in the outskirts of the city? Help me guess.

Run in Circles

Photography by Lou O' Bedlam

We are what we pretend to be. -Kurt Vonnegut

Here's what I want to share after the weekend: I don't like teen dramas, but when I tried to look inside the abandoned closet, there! I found sloppy firsts and second helpings. I was hooked on it, and even preparing my dinner I could not just put it down, like, could i run in circles? Haha. High school was the best time in my life - EVER because it was where you'll know the meaning and importance of friendship. I couldn't help but reminisce. I miss my old friends and my old hometown.

Vintage Hot Boxes

vintage boxes by such pretty things

Thank God It's Friday! I have been sitting for two hours in class this morning but I didn't mind for I have been taught about the virtue of patience ever since I was in the womb of my mother. If I couldn't wait for two hours, how about 9 months with the umbilical cord? Nah, I am just writing this so that everyone would know how significant patience is. I am going to meet several wonderful people and visit another art exhibit in the vicinity this weekend, and I hope you would, too.

I have a medium-sized vintage box in my room to keep the little treasures I have inside it. And to add inspiration, I launched handmade stuffs to be featured in this site last April 20th, does that count? It has been very helpful to uplift my mood.

I hearsay, have a fruitful weekend! Xoxo

My sister and I found a wounded bird (he seems to be struck by a slingshot.) in our little living area upstairs, and we were perplexed to keep him until he's well or not . But the rub is, HOW? We didn't know how, so my sister and I decided to let him go. After an hour, I still see him, still could not flutter his right wing, and my heart melted.

Antiquarian

"The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them."
— Mark Twain

There is a new hobby that I am quite obsessed with and that is book hunting. Especially in a thrift shop which there is a wide array of books to chose from and it is even cheaper than any other shops. For me, it's trifling if it's second hand as long as it'll feed my hunger for knowledge. I am dying to visit shops like those pictures above (except for the bottom picture).

I still have to fix my blog so I could put photos larger than the actual size I usually post, and I still have to find ways on how to do that.

P.S. I hope someone could help me find a way.

Honey In The Sun

Isn't it beautiful? While wanderlusters had this photo shoot in a field wherein she had to take care of herself of not being raped. Have the time to check her blog.
